Laser Cutting


Today’s Laser or Vector cutting machines work by importing the data directly
from a desktop drawing program which allows close nesting of objects
to minimise waste material and cut costs.

The machine then emits a high power laser at the material to be cut, the material then either melts, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of air, leaving an edge with a high quality finish which on acrylic removes the need to flame polish after.

Laser cutters can be used to cut flat sheet material like wood, leather, acrylic, laminates as well as piping materials and Vinyl Graphics.

Advantages of laser cutting over mechanical cutting include easier work holding and reduced contamination of work piece. Precision is increased as the laser beam
does not wear during the process.


Industrial components can be cut to scale from customers own design drawings.

There is also a reduced chance of warping the work
material or distorting the show surface because laser systems have a very small heat affected spot of around 0.2mm combined with a jet of cold air aimed at
the point of laser contact.
